<p>Glass recycling aids in glass production and the saving of energy. Most glass bottles and jars produced in the United States now contain at least 25% recycled glass &ndash; which requires 75% less energy to produce than glass made from new materials.&nbsp;Important to note&nbsp;that even small amounts of some materials mixed in with glass can contaminate entire loads. Find out what types of glass cannot be recycled below.</p>
<h6>What Not To Recycle</h6>
<p>Not all glass can be recycled. <span id="more-22"></span>Glass recycling is not recommended for the following items, thus they should not be placed into your recycling bin:</p>
<ul>
<li>Any glass contaminated with stones, dirt, and food waste</li>
<li>Ceramics, such as dishware, ovenware, and decorative items</li>
<li>Heat-resistant glass, such as Pyrex</li>
<li>Mixed colors of broken glass</li>
<li>Mirror or window glass</li>
<li>Metal or plastic caps and lids</li>
<li>Crystal</li>
<li>Light bulbs:</li>
<li>Cathode-ray tubes (CRTs) found in some televisions and computer monitors.</li>
