4.) Follow the instructions on the bottom of the shipping label by calling the 800 number to schedule a pick-up with Federal Express.
5.) IMPORTANT: WRITE THE ABOVE ADDRESS, USED ON YOUR SHIPPING LABEL, ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND INCLUDE IT IN THE BOX YOU SHIP YOUR ITEMS. Box your items according to the following guidelines: Box your phones, ink jets (no toner cartridges please), laptop / notebook computers, iPods and digital cameras. There is no need to individually wrap each item. We recommend separating ‘layers’ of items using newspaper. Please avoid using styrofoam packing materials such as styrofoam ‘peanuts’. Styrofoam is a kind of plastic made from oil and will not break down in a landfill. EcoPhones does not supply shipping boxes. Use any sturdy office boxes your organization may have, e.g. copier paper and other office supply boxes. Reuse reduces waste and saves money.
As cell phone batteries account for the majority of harmful substances related to cellular phone waste we encourage you to include phone batteries in your shipments. DO NOT SEND CHARGERS, CASES, EAR MICROPHONES, ETC. AS WE WILL CHARGE BACK THE SHIPPING COSTS ($20) RELATED TO BOXES THAT CONTAIN ACCESSORIES. We realize that individuals often donate the accessories with the phone and it is a well-intended gesture. Unfortunately, these accessories are often heavy / bulky and very expensive to ship. Our program cannot support the shipping and recycling costs of these items, which is why they are excluded from the program. Please recycle these items locally and responsibly.
